Pirelli calls for limited tyre running during Indian Grand Prix

Pirelli has asked teams up and down the grid to limit their running on both the soft and medium tyres during Sunday’s Indian Grand Prix. The teams have been asked to run no more than 15 laps on the soft/option tyre and not to exceed 35 laps on a set of the medium/prime tyres. The FIA has refused to formally enforce the Italian tyre manufacturer’s advice, but has stated that any team that blatantly disregards the guidelines suggested by Pirellli could be investigated by the race stewards as a safety measure. Pirelli’s comments come on the back of evidence of severe blistering developing on the soft tyre, which has plagued teams throughout the course of the Indian Grand Prix weekend....
