Vettel heads Red Bull 1-2 in first practice

Sebastian Vettel set the standard during first practice for the Indian Grand Prix on Friday morning. The Red Bull driver, who can claim a fourth successive world title this weekend, clocked a best time of 1:26.683 to lead team-mate Mark Webber by 0.188 seconds, while Mercedes rival Nico Rosberg completed the top three. With a lull in track activity once again occurring after the installation laps, it took around half an hour for the first times to arrive. Rosberg and Vettel swapped positions when the front runners finally emerged, but the latter ultimately came out on top with his quickest effort, which was almost a second quicker than the same session last year.
