Williams fined over loose wheel on Maldonado's car
October 11th, 2013 (F1Plus / Chris Cameron-Dow) - Pastor Maldonado's FP1 session was cut short when his left-rear wheel made a bid for freedom. The FIA took a dim view of the incident and fined Williams 60,000 after Friday practice. Maldonado was turning into the Spoon curve when his Williams oversteered. As he corrected and attempted to recover from the ensuing slide, his left-rear wheel came of the car. Maldonado spun, but recovered to park his car out of the way on the exit of the corner. The wheel went bouncing through the asphalt run-off area and cannoned into the tyre barrier that would later be hit at some speed by Sergio Perez's car in FP2. The stewards noted after their...
