F1 2013 – Ferrari struggles not down to tyres
Nikolas Tombazis who is chief designer at Ferrari believes their recent struggles are not solely down to the tyre compound changes which happened mid-season, which Fernando Alonso claimed were the reason for the struggles Ferrari suffered.Tombazis told Autosport 'It would be somewhat superficial to blame the tyres as the only reason for our decrease in performance. We also took some development steps that were not as strong and didn't work,''Wind tunnel technology has been a weak point for us, compared to our competitors.
