Hakkinen to contest GT Asia event

Two time World Champion, Mika Hakkinen, is to contest the GT Asia event at Zhuhai in China next month as part of the AMG Customer Sports programme.The ever popular Finn will join Erebus Motorsport for the event aimed as a launch-pad for the AMG Customer Sports program into the Chinese market.Hakkinen, the winner of 20 Grands Prix will race the Bathurst 12 Hour winning SLS AMG GT3 Gullwing, which has been shipped to China with its sister car for a two race campaign.To add further significance to the historic event, AMG China has appointed 17-year-old Hong Kong Chinese driver, Matthew Solomon, to share the Gullwing with Hakkinen in an apprentice role.
