Hamilton sets pace in first practice in Singapore

Lewis Hamilton emerged as the quickest driver in the first practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix on Friday with most runners setting significantly faster laps than last year. With the removal of the chicanes at Turn 10, the Mercedes driver’s time of 1 minute 47.055 seconds around the streets of Marina Bay was just over 3.5 seconds faster than the top time set in first practice last year. The 5.065-kilometre circuit proved to a bit tricky for the drivers with a few spins witnessed during the course of the session.
