Perez: New McLaren deal close
Sergio Perez says a deal for him to stay at McLaren for a second season in 2014 is 'pretty much done.'The Mexican joined the Woking-based team from Sauber this season, but has been outshone by team-mate Jenson Button - scoring less than half the points of the 2009 World Champion in the first 12 rounds of the championship.
However, despite a difficult first year with the team, the Mexican says contract negotiations have been concluded and the paper work is now being completed.
"Yeah, everything is pretty much done," Perez said in the FIA Press Conference ahead of the Singapore GP. "But the right thing to do is to ask Martin [Whitmarsh] about it.
