'Singapore Sling' removed

Singapore's infamous Turn Ten chicane - more commonly known as the 'Singapore Sling' - has been removed for this year's grand prix.The chicane, and particularly the vicious nature of its kerbing, gained notoriety soon after the Marina Bay circuit joined the calendar five years ago, with Lewis Hamilton in 2010 describing it as the "worst corner I've ever driven in Formula 1". Despite changes to the kerbing since the race's debut, organisers have now decided to remove the chicane altogether for this year's race and replace it with a flowing single-apex left-hand bend.
