Mercedes unable to materialize car's potential

Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton finished the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in sixth and ninth places today. Even though it was frustrating, the team still managed to recover somewhat from their disappointing positions on the starting grid. Nico Rosberg took P6 at the finish after running a one-stop strategy (option/prime), pitting on lap 26. At that stop, the team delivered the race's fastest pit lane time of 24.079 seconds. Lewis Hamilton suffered a slow right-front puncture on his first set of prime tyres that forced him to make an early stop on lap 13. This meant the team had to convert to a two-stop strategy and Lewis pitted again on lap 38, fitting options each time. On the charging...
