Sauber and Frijns part company for 2014

Sauber reserve driver Robin Frijns will not be retained by the Swiss team for 2014. Frijns joined Sauber as the teams reserve driver last November, taking over the seat vacated by Esteban Gutierrez. The Dutchman, who is the reigning Formula Renault 3.5 champion, having beaten the highly rated pair of Jules Bianchi and Sam Bird to the crown in 2012, originally found himself without a race seat at the start of the season, before replacing Conor Daly in a stop start deal with Hilmer Motorsports in GP2 from the second round of the series in Malaysia onwards.
