Ecclestone opposes Michelin and tyre war
Bernie Ecclestone has dismissed Michelin's interest in becoming Formula 1's tyre supplier for 2014, either in a sole capacity or to compete against Pirelli. The French manufacturer has signalled its interest after admitting it has held discussions with the FIA, but Ecclestone insists the final decision doesn't rest with them. "FOM and Pirelli have a contract," Ecclestone told Speed. "We don't need [a contract with the FIA], I don't think. They are nothing to do with commercial.
