Ecclestone: We have a deal with Pirelli
Bernie Ecclestone has rubbished reports that Michelin could replace Pirelli next season, insisting he has a contract with the Italian tyre manufacturer.
In recent weeks rumours have surfaced claiming that Michelin could enter Formula One in 2014, replacing the under-fire Pirelli.
According to the speculation, the FIA is even set to put out a tender next month that could start the process.
Ecclestone, however, is adamant his Formula One Management (FOM) already has a deal in place with Pirelli and that it is binding even if the FIA doesn't have a similar contract.
"FOM and Pirelli have a contract," the F1 supremo told SPEED.com
