Ward to stand as FIA Presidential candidate

The FIA Foundation’s Director General, David Ward, has announced he is resigning from his post with the charity to stand in this year’s FIA Presidential election. The FIA - Formula One racing’s governing body - is currently headed by former Ferrari team boss Jean Todt. “After much careful thought I have decided to stand,” said Ward in a statement. “The election period begins in September and it will be necessary for me to approach FIA members to secure nominations.
