Alonso hoping for change of luck in Belgium

By Phillip Horton on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 Fernando Alonso says he is hoping to make up for years of misfortune in Belgium by achieving a strong result this weekend. Alonso has never won the Belgian Grand Prix and has retired from the race on five of his nine attempts. One of those occasions was last year, when Alonso was the victim of an accident at the start, triggered by Romain Grosjean. 'I did well in 2005 when I came second and also back in Formula 3000,' Alonso said. 'So far, I’ve never been in with a real chance of fighting for the win and I’ve often retired at Spa, usually for reasons of plain bad luck or with technical problems or down to my own mistakes.'
