Brawn: Tyres a moving target
Ross Brawn has warned that Mercedes cannot yet be confident about being on top of their long-standing tyre problems despite Lewis Hamilton's commanding victory in Hungary.Hamilton has widely been installed as second favourite for the drivers' title since breaking his victory duck for his new team in Budapest two weeks ago, particularly as the win represented Mercedes' third in the last five grands prix.
Managing thermal tyre degradation has long proved Mercedes' Achilles heel, but in wake of the introduction of revised Pirelli tyres at the Hungaroring, there were no signs of such problems in the 35C-plus track temperatures.
