Indian GP organisers happy to skip 2014

Following the news that the Indian Grand Prix will not be on next year’s calendar, race organisers have said that they have ‘no problem’ with skipping the 2014 season in order to ensure an earlier slot on the calendar for 2015. The news comes in the wake of Bernie Ecclestone’s comments that the previous deal with the Buddh circuit had been a compromise with promoter Jaypee Sports International, who had wanted to keep the existing dates. As a result of the change, there is now an opening for the inaugural Russian Grand Prix at Sochi to be held on the 19 October.
