Solid race strategy pays off for Webber

Mark Webber says that a superior strategy resulted in him salvaging fourth place in the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Australian having started down the order in tenth after enduring technical problems in qualifying. Webber had elected not to set a time in Saturday’s final session, leaving him free to start the race on the longer-lasting Medium compound tyre. Stretching his strategy out to successfully complete two pitstops, the Red Bull driver reckons that his squad’s plan yielded the best possible result. “I think we had the right strategy,” he began. “We knew there was a lot of pressure on getting a good first lap and I got some clear air, which worked well.
