Maldonado hopes point opens floodgates

Williams driver Pastor Maldonado is hoping the floodgates will open after he achieved the outfit's first points finish of the season in the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Venezuelan, who started from the eighth row of the grid, consistently rose through the field during the 70-lap race, moving into the final points-paying position when Mercedes rival Nico Rosberg retired amid engine problems with six laps remaining. "I had a really good start from P15 and made a few overtaking manoeuvres during the race which were on the limit, which is especially pleasing as at this track it is very hard to overtake," Maldonado explained.
