Hamilton surprises with pole, beats Vettel by just 0.038s

Lewis Hamilton registered his fourth pole position this season – his third in succession - at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday beating Sebastian Vettel’s time by just under four-hundredths of second. Moving up to seventh on the all-time list, the Mercedes driver passed Juan Manual Fangio’s tally to record 30 poles but was surprised to get the position. “Was that pole?” Hamilton sought confirmation over the radio after he crossed the start-finish line when his team congratulated him for his efforts.
