Button encouraged by 'reasonable' day

Jenson Button has been left in a positive frame of mind following the conclusion of Friday practice at the Hungaroring, the Briton believing that, despite contrasting performances in the two sessions, he has seen enough evidence to show that his McLaren team can have a competitive weekend. Button placed sixth in the morning session, but a slight rise in track temperature saw him drop back to ninth in the afternoon, illustrating the sensitive nature of Pirelli’s new rubber compounds.
