Austrian GP to return in 2014

Formula One will once again make a stopover in Austria next year as the country will return to the calendar. The race is set to take place at the refurbished Red Bull Ring in Spielberg on July 6 following negotiations between Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz and F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone. A short statement from Red Bull read: "Dietrich Mateschitz and Bernie Ecclestone have reached agreement to the effect that Formula 1 will come back to Styria next year." The Red Bull Ring, which was originally named the Österreichring, made its F1 debut in 1970 and hosted races until 1987 before being dropped due to problems with the track.
