Ricciardo upbeat over showing despite spin
Daniel Ricciardo was in a positive frame of mind after his run in the RB9 chassis at Silverstone on Thursday, with the Toro Rosso driver getting a chance to showcase his potential to Red Bull chiefs as they look towards signing Mark Webber's replacement. The Australian, 24, set the fastest time of the day with his current team before the unofficial lunch break, later moving over to the Red Bull. His outing took a small hit after seven laps when spinning into the gravel at Luffield, but he recovered to reach a total of 59, gaining valuable experience in race-winning machinery in the process.
