Ricciardo fastest in Toro Rosso
Daniel Ricciardo was the fastest man today at the Young Driver Test in Silverstone. He set the best time before noon while driving his Toro Rosso. His afternoon run in the Red Bull RB9 proved slower.
Ricciardo's afternoon running in the Red Bull RB9 was greatly anticipated as he set out to impress the team for a possible race seat next year. The Australian however struggled a bit and ended up in the gravel trap only 7 laps after stepping into the car. Carlos Sainz Jr. meanwhile drove the Toro Rosso STR8 in the afternoon and ended up second fastest, a mere few hundredths slower than Ricciardo.
