Pat Symonds joins Williams as chief technical officer

Williams have announced the appointment of Pat Symonds as their new chief technical officer.Symonds, who has won multiple world championships in a 30-year Formula One career, joins the Grove-based team after parting company with Marussia, where he had been working as a technical consultant since the spring of 2011.Symonds arrival coincides with the departure of Mike Coughlan who had served as Williams’ technical director since 2011.Speaking about Symonds’ appointment, Williams’ founder and team Principal Sir Frank Williams said: “I’m delighted that Pat is joining the team.
