Marussia and Pat Symonds part ways

Marussia has parted ways with technical consultant Pat Symonds, the Banbury-based team announced on Tuesday morning. The former Renault engineering chief joined the team as a consultant in 2011, his first job since the crashgate scandal of 2008. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Marussia F1 Team over the course of the past two and a half seasons," he said. "The team has developed immeasurably during that time and it now has all the right people and resources in place to achieve great things in the future. I wish the team the success it so richly deserves." The news comes shortly after confirmation of Marussia's powertrain deal with Ferrari.
