Whitmarsh: Germany 'a step in the right direction'
Martin Whitmarsh has said that he feels McLaren are moving in the right direction after a strong double points finish at the German Grand Prix.
They may be some way off the front-running pace but Whitmarsh feels that they are consistently improving and moving forward. Button and Perez finished sixth and eighth at the last round in Germany and that came after a run of two consecutive races outside the points.
Speaking to Press Association Sport, Whitmarsh said: 'Obviously I'm not doing handstands or anything like that, we are still not where we expect to be or want to be, but at least it was a step in the right direction.
