Pirelli chief calls for testing rethink

Pirelli chief Paul Hembery has called on Formula 1 teams to stop being paranoid over tyre testing. Hembery is frustrated with Pirelli having to use its outdated 2010 Renault test car for tyre development at a time when the Mercedes test scandal and Silverstone blowouts have thrust the F1 tyre supplier further into the spotlight than ever before. The fear of competitors gaining an unfair advantage seems to be at the heart of the 'paranoia' surrounding tyre tests, and Hembery believes that has to change.
