Vettel relieved to fend off Lotus duo

Sebastian Vettel expressed a feeling of relief after fending off the attentions of Lotus rivals Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean during Sunday’s German Grand Prix, with the Red Bull driver taking victory on home soil by little more than a second. Having moved into the lead at the start, Vettel controlled the pace ahead of Grosjean as the opening two thirds of the race developed, before keeping Räikkönen – who made a late switch to the Soft compound tyre – at bay during the final five laps.
