German GP: Hamilton on pole

Lewis Hamilton has put himself in pole position to ignite his World Championship bid in Sunday's German GP after a nerve-jangling defeat of the Red Bulls in a riveting qualifying hour at the Nurburgring.In a ding-dong contest with Sebastian Vettel, who will start alongside the Englishman on the front-row, it was Hamilton who had the last laugh - and, crucially, the last lap of the session - to trump Vettel by just over two-tenths of a second.
