Ecclestone floats idea to buy Nurburgring circuit

Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone says he might buy the financially troubled Nurburgring circuit in Germany. The circuit will stage the German Grand Prix this weekend, only after Ecclestone agreed to accept a smaller fee for the right to hold the race. Ecclestone tells Die Welt newspaper he might buy the circuit himself, or 'at least I am thinking about.' The administrators of the circuit have been looking for an investor to buy the complex. The circuit is in the Eifel hills in western Germany. Apart from various motorsport events, it also stages a rock festival and various other concerts.
