Drivers threaten boycott over tyre failures
"true">Formula 1 drivers have threatened to boycott the German Grand Prix, should there be a repeat of the tyre blow-outs suffered at Silverstone. The decision comes following a meeting of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA) at the Nürburgring. In the wake of last weekend's events, Pirelli has been forced into a safety-based change, introducing the Kevlar-belted rubber teams tested in Canada. A new range, merging 2012 structures with 2013 compounds, will then be introduced in Hungary. However, the GPDA have expressed their "deepest concerns" over the situation, and has vowed to take action, in the form of pulling out, if the problems persist. "The drivers...
