Race drivers allowed at test

Formula 1's race drivers will now be permitted to take part in the Silverstone Young Driver Test from July 17 as the FIA seek an "urgent solution" for the sport's tyre problems.Pending the approval of the World Motor Sport Council of the change to the regulations, which is likely to be a formality, regular drivers will be allowed to run "provided it is clear that the purpose of them doing this is to test tyres for Pirelli". Mercedes, however, will still be barred from participating in line with their previous ban for the test for taking part in an unauthorised tyre test in wake of the Spanish GP.
