Pirelli allowed to test after Silverstone debacle

By Phillip Horton on Monday, July 1, 2013 Pirelli will be permitted to run two three day tests without restrictions in order to fix tyre issues that marred the British Grand Prix. Five drivers suffered tyre blow outs during the race, raising doubts about the safety of Pirelli's tyres ahead of this weekend's German Grand Prix. Bernie Ecclestone and FIA President Jean Todt met following the race to come up with a solution. 'They [Pirelli] have complained in the past when these tyres have delaminated – which is certainly nothing to do with it,' Ecclestone told Press Association.
