Hamilton claims British GP pole

Lewis Hamilton claimed a popular pole position for his home grand prix after blitzing Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg to the fastest time in Q3 at Silverstone.The Briton was required to up his game on his final flying lap, as Rosberg erased his earlier lap from P1, but fired his W04 across the line in 1min 29.607secs to put a four-tenths margin between himself and the German.Only Sebastian Vettel was left to complete a lap after Hamilton, but the world champion could only manage third, easing ahead of Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber, but failing to dislodge either Mercedes as he came up a couple of tenths shy of Rosberg's time.Paul di Resta completed a good afternoon for the local...
