Pirelli: Cut tyre to blame

An initial investigation by Pirelli into Sergio Perez's tyre failure in final practice for the British Grand Prix pinpoints a cut sidewall as the cause and not a delamination.Perez's McLaren suffered a left-rear blow-out about 15 minutes into Saturday morning's session as the Mexican exited Silverstone's Copse corner. Red flags came out as marshals cleared up the debris and there were fears that the delamination problems Pirelli have sought to address recently might still remain.
