Kovalainen edging closer to F1 return?

Heikki Kovalainen is closing in on a return to Formula One with the Caterham team, well-connected Finnish paper Turun Sanomat newspaper reports. The Finn last raced for the Leafield based team last season before being replaced by Charles Pic and rookie Giedo van der Garde. It's the latter's race seat that is reportedly being questioned. Kovalainen returned to the cockpit for Bahrain and Spain's FP1 sessions to help Caterham develop the car and make crucial improvements. He felt that the car had made a step back and was difficult to drive. The 31-year-old previously raced for Renault before moving to McLaren.
