Silverstone Practice 1: Ricciardo fastest in the wet as most opt to stay dry 28 June, 2013 Daniel Ricciardo during the Friday morning practice at Silverstone The notorious ‘Egnlish summer' welcomed the Formula 1 world to Silverstone for the first free practice of the British Grand Prix weekend and it was Daniel Ricciardo in the Toro Rosso who was fastest in the rain affected session.
With rain falling for the entire ninety minutes most drivers – in fact half the field – did not even go out and set a time. Ricciardo was one of those that did and in the end racked up 10 laps which was more than anyone else.
