Mercedes prepared to forego young driver test as punishment 21 June, 2013 Brendon Hartley during the Young Drivers Test, at Magny Cours in 2012 Mercedes would be willing to miss a Formula 1 young driver test at Silverstone in July if a tribunal decides to punish them for allegedly breaking the testing rules last month, their lawyer said on Thursday. Paul Harris, representing the British-based team at a hearing in Paris that could impose a range of sanctions including exclusion from the championship itself, said Mercedes should be cleared.
