FIA will not announce verdict on Thursday

Governing body FIA will not announce a verdict over the test-gate scandal involving Pirelli and Mercedes on Thursday, following the first series of arguments from all three parties at the first ever International Tribunal (IT) hearing in Paris. The tribunal ultimately arose after Ferrari and Red Bull lodged protests during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, with both teams particularly unhappy about Mercedes' use of a 2013 chassis during a private, 1,000km test after the Spanish Grand Prix. In front of the IT panel on Thursday, the FIA's legal representative, Mark Howard QC, argued that no official permission was given for the test to go ahead.
