Mercedes and Pirelli to be charged at tribunal

Formula 1 governing body the FIA has confirmed that, as mooted during the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, the International Tribunal involving Mercedes and Pirelli will be heard in Paris on 20 June, with both parties facing disciplinary action. The tribunal has been organised in the wake of news that a private three-day test was staged by Pirelli and attended by Mercedes after the Spanish Grand Prix, during which the Silver Arrows completed 1,000km of running on prototype 2014 tyre compounds. Red Bull and Ferrari were quick to lodge protests when the test came to light at the Monaco Grand Prix, with the stewards ultimately passing responsibility to the FIA. Having studied the options...
