Vettel dominates to take first Canadian win

Sebastian Vettel eased to his first Canadian Grand Prix win by scampering away at the start of the race and steadily pulling out a gap to finish over 14 seconds ahead of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard overcame Lewis Hamilton in the closing stages of the race to finish second and minimise the damage to his championship hopes. Mark Webber couldn't keep pace with the top three and finished ten seconds behind the Mercedes. He did suffer front-wing damage after backmarker Giedo van der Garde made contact as the Australian attempted a pass - the Caterham was later called in for a stop/go penalty.
