Prac Three: Webber tops truncated session
A massive dent in the Turn 11 armco barrier resulted in a shortened final practice that included a crazy final three minutes and Mark Webber setting the pace...
As a light drizzle fell over the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the drivers stayed indoors as track workers attempted to fix the barrier that had taken a knock in the earlier Ferrari Challenge.
The session could not be started with the barrier as it was due to safety issues. As such tracker workers armed with welders spent 30 minutes of final practice making repairs before the action finally got underway with just 30 minutes remaining.
