Pirelli's tweaked tyres to get Silverstone debut

Pirelli have announced that their tweaked 2013 tyre compounds will make their track debut at the next round of the season in Canada, but their race debut at the British Grand Prix at the end of June. The Italian firm revealed that the re-structured tyres will be used in Canada's Friday practice sessions rather than over the whole weekend as first announced. Moves to make the tyres safer and more durable came after over 80 pit stops took place at the fifth round of the season in Spain. Pirelli had hoped to bring ‘elements of the structure from last year' to the rubber but the FIA warned them that regulations state they must only be changed for safety reasons.
