Toro Rosso announce 2014 Renault engine deal

Toro Rosso will join sister team Red Bull Racing in being powered by Renault engines for the 2014 season. The Italian squad are currently powered by Ferrari's V8 engine, a deal that started in 2007, but with the new 1.6 litre Turbo powerplants coming into force in 2014 they are making the switch. In a pre-Monaco Grand Prix press release, Renault Sport F1 President Jean-Michel Jalinier said on the announcement 'We carefully considered what is best for all parties before concluding the agreement. Toro Rosso is a well-run, established team, with strong personnel and facilities giving the team the potential to be a regular points contender.'
