Di Resta out in Q1 in Monaco, Massa misses session

Force India's Paul di Resta was the big casualty in first qualifying at the Monaco Grand Prix, although Felipe Massa also missed out, unable to run after his crash in final practice.With rain falling before Q1, conditions were damp and slippery to start with, although they soon started to dry out and the times tumbled. In the end di Resta missed the cut by just 0.227s, with Charles Pic, Esteban Gutierrez, Max Chilton and Jules Bianchi also failing to progress. Bianchi didn't even set a time, forced to stop at the start of the session with smoke pouring from the back of his Marussia.
