Gearbox penalty for Massa after FP3 crash
Felipe Massa has been forced to take a five-place grid penalty for the Monaco Grand Prix after his team had to change his gearbox following a heavy crash during final practice. The Brazilian seemed to lose his steering as he crossed the start/finish line, but initial reports from Ferrari suggest Massa was at fault for locking up as he hit a bump in the track surface. Watch Felipe Massa's FP3 crash here >> He headed straight into the barrier before turn one, eventually coming to a rest in the Sainte Devote barrier further up the road with heavy damage to his F138. Ferrari are hopeful they can fix the car in time for the first qualifying session, but not without changing his gearbox...
