Ecclestone: Pirelli doing what was asked of them

Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has said that Pirelli are doing exactly what he asked them to do, producing tyres with higher wear that fail to last half race distance. The Italian supplier came under fire after the Spanish Grand Prix for the eventual four-stop strategy, something they didn't expect. Red Bull Racing and Mercedes were just two teams complaining about the rubber, which will see structural tweaks for the seventh round of the season.
