Pirelli to investigate tyre failures carefully

Pirelli is happy with its tyre choice so far, as the fastest runner today on medium tyres was half a second quicker than last year's best time on Friday on the softs. The company however saw a worrying tyre failure on Paul Di Resta's car and will analyse if further tyre changes are needed. The first free practice session on Friday for the Spanish Grand Prix started in wet weather, meaning that teams were forced to concentrate their running in the final moments of FP1 and a dry FP2. At the end of FP2, Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel topped the time sheets with a lap of 1m22.808s on the Pirelli P Zero White medium tyre, which has been nominated along with the P Zero Orange hard for Barcelona....
