Only top ten teams to receive prize money

Bernie Ecclestone has revealed that prize money will only be given to teams which finish as a top ten constructor in 2013, therefore eradicating the £6.44 million sum that had been handed to those outside the group in the past three seasons. Prior to the three new outfits joining the grid in 2010, a deal was reached between Formula 1 supremo Ecclestone and former FIA President Max Mosley which saw the aforementioned figure awarded to those failing to claim a top ten position in the Constructors' championship.
