Magnussen retains lead in atrocious conditions

Carlos Huertas claimed victory in a rain affected second race at the Formula Renault 3.5 Series round in Spain. Kevin Magnussen, who dominated the first race on Saturday, stormed from the back of the grid to ninth place, maintaining his championship lead over Stoffel Vandoorne. Norman Nato had claimed pole position during a chaotic qualifying session but the French driver spun off at Turn 1 when racing resumed following a Safety Car start. Huertas assumed the lead and was never challenged during a race that was truncated due to a problem with the Zytek engines.
